Bob Gage is the senior partner of Gage Spencer & Fleming. For over 30 years, he has litigated and tried a wide variety of cases including antitrust, securities, health care and insurance. These matters often require a combination of complex criminal, regulatory and commercial expertise.

​Before private practice, Mr. Gage worked in the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York for six years as a criminal prosecutor. From 1988-1990 he served in the Securities and Commodities Fraud Unit where he tried major insider trading and other significant cases. 

Mr. Gage graduated from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and passed the Foreign Service Exam. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center where he was Editor-in-Chief of the American Criminal Law Review. He served as a law clerk on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals for the Honorable James C. Hill. After his clerkship, he worked as an associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell. Following his tenure as a federal prosecutor, Mr. Gage went into private practice and founded the predecessor firm to Gage Spencer & Fleming. 

Mr. Gage served on the White Collar Crime Committee of the New York City Bar Association where he has worked on the Cyber Crime, Corporate Compliance and Remediation, and Monitorship subcommittees. Mr. Gage is regularly recognized as a top litigator and is selected yearly by Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers, among others, as one of the nation's best white-collar criminal defense attorneys, through a rating system based purely on peer review. Mr. Gage has been recognized as a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rating attorney, the highest possible peer review rating in legal ability and ethical standards. 

Mr. Gage served on the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service Board of Visitors and also served as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Elderhostel, Inc.
